Extreme Sports enthusiast, Nico Hambleton is a lighting cameraman, DOP and aerial drone pilot.
Young blood on the camera scene, Nico has quickly risen through the ranks and is now an established camera ninja ready to shoot whatever you throw at him. He specialises in documentaries but also has experience across a broader spectrum of projects such as entertainment, sports and live/pre-recorded studio. His most recent achievement was winning ‘Best Short Film’ and ‘People’s Choice Award’ at Kendal Mountain Festival and he was nominated an ‘Award of Excellence’ at The Guild of Camera Television Professionals, for his film Lock Down Rock Up.
His regular clients include ITN, Royal Docs for ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and more.
Nico, unfortunately for him, spends a lot of his earnings buying new kit but fortunately for productions, they are able to use him without having to hire in additional equipment. His treasures include the new Canon C500 Mark II and he covers everything from lighting, sound, grip and gimbals, lenses and drones.
We mentioned that Nico was ready to shoot whatever you throw at him. Yup. That’s true! A fanatic for adrenaline sports and the outdoors, whether you want him to shoot halfway up a cliff on the side of a mountain, deep in a jungle or jumping out of an aeroplane, you can be reassured that you won’t have to do it, he will. In his spare time, you’ll find him buying more kit, climbing on hard, tiny holds, making big air jumps kitesurfing or skiing backwards. Nutter.
