The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse

The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse by Charlie Mackesy
Few who follow Charlie on Twitter (still can't get used to calling it "X") can have failed to be moved by his beautiful drawings with whimsical black lines and raw edges.  Born in Northumberland and for the most part, self-taught, artist Charlie Macksey began his working life as a cartoonist for Spectator magazine and from there moved on to illustrating for Oxford University Press.  The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse is his first book and it's fair to say each conversation and adventure is a standalone piece of art.  As per the author's own instructions, it's one to pick up and read over and over again, scribbling notes, folding down corners to mark your place and returning to it with a steaming hot mug of tea propped up in bed with sumptuous pillows to read again.  Full of wisdom and self-care, please do pick up a copy using the link, above.
