Jo Hodges
Fusion Co Founder/ Camera Supervisor

Co-Founder and Camera Supervisor, Jo Hodges has been a camerawoman for  *whispers*  25 years! and we’re also pretty sure she’s also the only female camera operator to run the line at the Rugby World Cup Final! As the extremely efficient manager of Fusion’s diary service, Jo also produces, directs and operates cameras. One of what seems like a limited amount of female jib ops in the country and an RF specialist, Jo regularly supervises studios and live OBs. Her clients include IMG Media, Arqiva, C4, BSKYB, BT Sport, EqUa Coaching, Sunset and Vine, BBC, ITV Productions, The Discovery Channel and Five TV.

Producer/Director/Camerawoman and published author Liz has worked in the media industry for 27 years. With a background in camera work and editing, she regularly supervises studios and OBs and is currently undertaking the launch of our brand new training department. She is a regular floatacam user and has recently trained the staff at ITN Productions how to use it. Liz’s regular clients include C4, BSKYB, BBC, ITV Productions, Sunset + Vine, BT Sport, Timeline, EqUa Coaching, Smirnoff, BMW and CNBC.

Ram Mohial is the most laid back camera operator we have ever worked with.  His friendly charm always puts his clients at ease and he just effortlessly fits into any project and crew large or small.  Ram’s something of a musician so loves working on music events as well as sport (although sadly he’s a Spurs fan!) Alison Banham

Alison thrives on variety and her impressive career to date has encompassed all genres of Broadcast from operating large OB lenses, to lightweight location operations.  Another first for the Fusion team women as she was also the first woman camera supervisor on Eastenders.

On location, Alison has operated on dramas, current affairs, light entertainment and sport, from handhelds to track and dolly set ups.  She is a skilled operator, adept at working in the HD environment of broadcast, on both live and pre-recorded programmes, whether directing from a gallery, out on the floor, on scripted and non-scripted camera work, covering live music, discussion-led set ups or live inserts into live broadcast programming – we told you she thrives on variety!

Fiona Schimmel
TV Studio and OB Camerawoman

Fiona Schimmel is a rare find with an enviable credits list!

Fiona is a hugely motivated Arena TV staff-trained camera operator specialising in both outside broadcast and studio camera work.  She’s comfortable operating both big and small lenses as well as experienced in ped and handheld camerawork.

Fluent in English and German, Fiona is also highly skilled in ‘Camera Guaranteeing’ including organising rigs/ de-rigs in any location (stadiums, theatres, public locations and TV studios), FACS checking, rigging and testing kit and trouble-shooting on site, liaising with unit managers,  directors, camera supervisors and clients and training new camera assistants.

Nico Hambleton
TV Studio, Extreme Sports and OB Cameraman/DOP

Extreme Sports enthusiast, Nico Hambleton is a lighting cameraman, DOP and aerial drone pilot.

Young blood on the camera scene, Nico has quickly risen through the ranks and is now an established camera ninja ready to shoot whatever you throw at him. He specialises in documentaries but also has experience across a broader spectrum of projects such as entertainment, sports and live/pre-recorded studio. His most recent achievement was winning ‘Best Short Film’ and ‘People’s Choice Award’ at Kendal Mountain Festival and he was nominated an ‘Award of Excellence’ at The Guild of Camera Television Professionals, for his film Lock Down Rock Up.
His regular clients include ITN, Royal Docs for ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and more.

Nico, unfortunately for him, spends a lot of his earnings buying new kit but fortunately for productions, they are able to use him without having to hire in additional equipment. His treasures include the new Canon C500 Mark II and he covers everything from lighting, sound, grip and gimbals, lenses and drones.

We mentioned that Nico was ready to shoot whatever you throw at him. Yup. That’s true! A fanatic for adrenaline sports and the outdoors, whether you want him to shoot halfway up a cliff on the side of a mountain, deep in a jungle or jumping out of an aeroplane, you can be reassured that you won’t have to do it, he will.  In his spare time, you’ll find him buying more kit, climbing on hard, tiny holds, making big air jumps kitesurfing or skiing backwards. Nutter.

Sound Supervisor/Mixer and Sound Assist

Jemma Scotter has over 15 years freelance experience as a Sound Supervisor/Mixer and Sound Assist, covering an enormous range of live and recorded studio shows and OBs along with ENG/PSC work, Grams Operating (Spot On, Shortcut and Instant Replay), corporate work and music production (both live and recorded).

She prides herself on a positive “can do” attitude, great organisational, multi-tasking and time management abilities, first-class attention to detail and excellent people skills developed over many years in the uniquely demanding environment of the broadcast industry.

Jemma’s areas of expertise include OBs for all of the major OB companies including events such as The BAFTAs, Sport Relief, Brit Awards, Olympics, Football, NFL, Wimbledon, Goodwood and Boxing. As a Studio Sound Assistant on major shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing on Ice, X factor bit on the side, The Chase, This Morning, Good Morning Britain, Loose Women, Supermarket Sweep and many more!

She also works across News and sports news, (both rolling and bulletin based), light entertainment, current affairs, magazine shows, music performances, quiz shows, childrens’ TV, Documentaries, news, light entertainment, junkets, premieres, corporate, promos and commercials. Martin Mansell
Lighting Cameraman

Martin Mansell is a lighting cameraman with over 26 years of experience in the industry. His love for the job and his technical ability are reflected in the high quality of his work.  He is completely at home working in a studio, OB or PSC environment, supervising, operating or lighting and is well-accustomed to the high-pressures live TV can bring.

Highlights Martin is particularly proud of include lighting the BBC studio and collaborating with the set designer for the 2019 World Athletics in Doha and winning a ‘Golden Rings’ award for filming a PSC feature at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

A few of Martin’s credits include various state events such as Harry & Meghan’s wedding, State Opening of Parliament, Lady Thatcher’s funeral, the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, and Trooping the Colour.

Entertainment program credits include BBC Proms, Songs of Praise, The One Show working on over 50 episodes and Glastonbury Pyramid stage.

Lighting the OB studio for BBC Sport at various events, including the Masters Golf in Augusta over a period of 9 years, the Open Golf, the Ryder Cup, Six Nations Rugby, FA Cup, FA Cup Draw, Doha World Athletics and also for ITV Sport Horse Racing and Rugby World Cup 2015.

Martin has worked on every summer Olympics since 1996 and every winter Olympics since 2006, including London 2012, Rio 2018, Sochi 2014 and PyeongChang 2018, covering a mix of host, PSC and BBC pres roles. He also supervised the gymnastics at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014 and has worked on the tennis at Wimbledon, Queens, Eastbourne and the O2 Masters, Formula One, British Touring cars, the London Marathon and the Boat Race.

Amongst Martin’s regular work is football for Match of the Day and he has been a familiar face at the BT Sport Studios since they launched in 2013 working on both Champions League and Europa League programs, amongst others, and at the Premier League Productions studios for IMG.

Angus Macfadyen
Multi camera Operator/ DOP

Angus Macfadyen is a highly skilled cameraman with over thirty years of experience in television camerawork and filmmaking. With his own Sony FS7 kit, he specialises in single-camera documentaries, corporate/NGO filmmaking and excels as a versatile camera operator in both live and non-live environments. Angus is also proficient in lighting setups for single-camera shoots and has a deep passion for capturing the movement and choreography of handheld camera shots.

Over the years, Angus has filmed live outside broadcasts of cultural and sporting events, including prestigious occasions such as the Women’s Tennis World Tour, The Olympic Games, The World Athletics Championships, The London Marathon, The Commonwealth Games, and The Open Championships. He has also captured significant moments including presidential visits, The Royal Coronation, and multiple weddings, showcasing his expertise in diverse settings around the world.

Over the past decade, Angus’s work as a HiMo specialist has resulted in iconic images from events such as Wimbledon’s Centre Court and Roland Garros finals. His adaptability is evident as he seamlessly transitions between production requirements, comfortably working with outside broadcast as well as studio crews. His credits include popular shows such as ‘Eastenders,’ ‘MTV,’ ‘Question Time,’ ‘Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush,’ and various studio productions.

In addition to his studio and outside broadcast work, Angus has contributed to award-winning single-camera dramas. He embarked on his career as a cameraman with Thames TV’s long-running series, ‘The Bill,’ followed by  BBC’s ‘Casualty’ and ‘Holby City.’ Angus’s expertise extends to capturing scripted stunts and he relishes the challenge of shooting one-off, high-pressure, big-budget sequences.

Angus’s impressive portfolio highlights his ability to excel in testing and hostile environments. He has ventured into famine-struck Southern Sudan during their long-running civil war while working with Save The Children Fund.
